Han was born and raised in the Alkmaar area.

He is passionate about sharing the beauty of this area with others.

He completed his miller training in 1998 and in 2000 had the opportunity to restore this unique 1632 windmill where he has lived ever since.

In 2020, he married his American wife, Kelly, who is originally from Seattle. She brings her own special gifts to their lives at the mill; her eye for detail, photography skills, and warmth. As she sees this area through fresh eyes, they make the perfect team!​
